edTPA is a pre-service assessment process designed by educators to answer the essential question: "Is a new teacher ready for the job?"
edTPA includes a review of a teacher candidate's authentic teaching materials as the culmination of a teaching and learning process that documents and demonstrates each candidate's ability to effectively teach his/her subject matter to all students. 12 Nov 15 2014 edTPA Administrative Report Provides New Data on Validity and Performance
SCALE, Pearson, and AACTE recently released Educative Assessment & Meaningful Support: 2014 edTPA Administrative Report. More than 18,000 teacher candidates submitted portfolios in 2014, the first full year of edTPA implementation. The report provides new data on scoring reliability and performance on edTPA, and presents evidence for validity of edTPA scores and interpretations, and analyses that demonstrate that edTPA effectively assesses the three tasks for which it is designed -- planning, instruction, and assessment of student learning.
